Intro

The debate on which is the master science subject among physics, chemistry, mathematics, geology is probably one that we would almost come to blows arguing it out.  Majority are inclined to physics because it explains the nature of the nano world of electrons and positrons to the understanding of the life cycle of the universe. I neither agree nor disagree. I however think chemistry gets little appreciation despite being the discipline that explains the nature of all matter in existence including what makes organisms be termed as ‘living’. Biology only works because of chemistry. Doubts? Here is why. Biological processes of living organisms depend on the interactions of the atoms, molecules and compounds that form living tissues and the environment within which life takes place. Biology is in a way the manifestation of the complex chemical reactions happening within a control environment in an organism. The structural composition of living organisms begins with atoms making molecules and compounds, molecules and compounds forming organelles, organelles forming cells, cells forming tissues, tissues forming organs, multiple organs functioning to form an organ system and multiple organ systems forming a multi cellular organism. Biology can therefore be boiled down to the simplest molecular structure of tissues and this has been fundamental in understanding life and how it comes to be, how it progresses and also seek explanations to most of the biological phenomenon being witnessed. From this, biochemistry can be termed simply as a field that studies the chemical processes occurring within and relating to living organisms. It is more of a research oriented field seeking to explore the internal environment of the living and unravel the mysteries it holds. Through this blog I will be passing biochemical info to educate you, help you understand your bodies better, and of course some miscellaneous knowledge does no harm. LET’S DO THIS!!!
